Enable 2-Step Verification with a Code Generator App
This article will walk you through the steps to enable 2-Step Verification (also known as Two-Factor Authentication or 2FA) on your Stevenson Google account, using a code generator app on your mobile device. The code generator app will generator 6-digit codes that you can enter as the second factor when logging into your account.
Prerequisites: Before getting started, you will need the following...
- Your Stevenson Google account credentials.
- Access to your mobile device.
- A code generator app installed on your mobile device.
Enable 2-Step Verification on Your Google Account with a Code Generator App
First, follow the steps to enable 2-step verification on your Stevenson Google account with text or voice messages.

Once 2-step verification with text or voice messages is enabled, visit https://accounts.google.com again. On the Google Account page, click the Security link on the left side of the page.
On the Security page, scroll down to the Signing Into Google section, click the 2-Step Verification option.
On the 2-Step Verification page, scroll down to the Authenticator app section, and click SET UP.
On the Get codes from the Authenticator app page, select the type of phone you have and click NEXT.
On the Set up Authenticator page, follow the on-screen directions. Scan the QR code with the Authenticator app to set up the app. Then click NEXT.
On the next Set up Authenticator page, enter the 6-digit code you see in the Authenticator app, then click VERIFY.
Once verified, the 2-Step Verification page will show the Authenticator app as the default method of 2-step verification. Voice or text messages are now a backup option.
Your Stevenson Google account is now secured with 2-step verification.
Enable 2-Step Verification Emergency Backup Codes
