iPad Care Tips
Students are responsible for the general care of the iPad issued by Adlai E. Stevenson High School. iPads that are broken or fail to work properly must be taken to the SMARTdesk for an evaluation of the device.
General Precautions
The iPad is property of Adlai E. Stevenson High School. All users will follow District 125 procedures and the District 125 Acceptable Use Guidelines, as outlined in the Student Guidebook.
- Only use a clean, soft cloth to wipe the iPad. Never use any liquids or chemicals.
- Cords and cables should be inserted carefully into the iPad to prevent damage.
- iPads must remain free of writing, drawing, stickers, skins, or labels that are not the property of Adlai E. Stevenson High School.
- iPads should never be left unattended, such as in an unlocked locker, unlocked car, or any unsupervised area. Unsupervised areas include, but are not limited to the school grounds, campus cafeterias, computer labs, hallways, locker rooms, learning centers, unlocked classrooms, etc. iPads left in these areas are in danger of being stolen.
- Students must not remove or deface any Adlai E. Stevenson High School identification.
- Do not drop the iPad.
Carrying iPads
The cases provided with iPads offer sufficient protection for normal everyday use and provide a suitable means for carrying the device. SHS iPads should always remain in the protective case.
Screen Care
The iPad screens may be damaged if subjected to rough treatment. The screens are particularly sensitive to damage from excessive pressure on the screen.
- Do not lean on the iPad.
- Do not place anything near or on the iPad that could put pressure on the device.
- Do not place anything in the case that will press against the cover.
- Clean the screen only with an anti-static or dry, soft cloth. Never use any liquids or chemicals.
- Do not “bump” the iPad against lockers, walls, car doors, floors, etc., as it may break the screen.
